Keyshia Cole covers the latest issue of Billboard magazine looking fantastic as usual and she has some things to say about her music. After two successful albums, 2005′s “The Way It Is” and 2007′s “Just Like You,” it’s evident that Keyshia Cole is moving in a new direction on “A Different Me,” due Dec. 16th.

She tells Billboard:

“The first two albums were more … painful. It’s a different me this time: a young woman who’s still growing and finding myself, exploring life through different routes musically and in other areas. I wrote more about other people’s situations than my own. I’m moving forward”.

On A Different Me Keyshia collaborates with a few veteran producers and a couple newcomers, including Polow Da Don, the Runners, Neffu, Kwame, Orthodox & Ransom and the Trackmasters.

About her songwriting:

“When I hear something, I hear it — it doesn’t take me three, four, five times to hear a song and say, ‘OK, let’s write,’” If I don’t write to it right off the bat, it’s not working.”

While her new album is still a month away, be sure to tune in to this week’s season premiere of Keyshia Cole’s BET hit show “The Way It Is” on Tuesday, November 11th @ 10pm.
