Shawntae “Da Brat” Harris has been sentenced to 3 years in prison on charges of felony aggravated assault.

The charges stem from an incident last Halloweens at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72 nightclub where Da Brat hit and slashed Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, Shayla Stevens, in the head with a nearly full liquor bottle.

About six members of Harris’ family wept when a sheriff’s deputy took her into custody. “I love y’all,” Da Brat said as she was led out of the courtroom. “We love you, too,” the relatives replied in unison.

Stevens was in court but did not speak or talk to reporters.

This isn’t Da Brat’s first brush with trouble. In March 2000, Atlanta police arrested Harris after she struck a woman at a Buckhead bar. She was sentenced to 12 months of probation.
