Villa Leopolda

A Russian billionaire has one-upped his comrades by spending $750 million on La Villa Leopolda. The villa is located on a wooded hillside overlooking the French Riviera between Nice and Monaco.
It was once owned by Belgium’s King Leopold II more than 100 years ago. It was later turned into a hospital for wounded solders during World War I.The villa has a central tower and comes with 20 acres covered with 1,200 olive, cypress, lemon and orange trees.
Other previous owners of the villa include late banking magnate Edmund Safra, Bill Gates and Fiat tycoon Gianni Agnelli.
