The self proclaimed “King of the South”, Clifford “T.I.” Harris, has been released on Tuesday morning after serving 7 months in a low-security Arkansas federalpenitentiary in Forrest City, Arkansas.
T.I.’s attorney Steve Sadow confirmed the release saying it’s “not out of the ordinary” that he was released so soon. He was originally sentenced to 366 days in prison for weapons charges resulting from an October 2007 incident.
T.I. was released early due to good behavior, but he will serve the remainder of a reduced sentence at Dismas Charities Atlanta West, a correctional center near Fulton County Airport, for about three months.
Describing the half way house, his attorney said:
“A halfway house is more along the lines of a residential dormitory. You live within this house that is broken into areas for living, and you are permitted to leave during the day for certain reasons of which would be employment, medical reasons, things of that nature, and you return to the halfway house in the evening. So it’s a restriction on your liberty but it’s a way for you to reenter into society and not be confined within a jail type institution 24-hours a day.”
