Chris Brown entered a L.A. court room at 3:25 on Monday afternoon and plead “not guilty” to the felony charges of assault and making criminal threats after he was charged with allegedly assaulting Rihanna.
His lawyer, Mark Geragos, is said to be working out a plea deal with the L.A. District Attorney’s office, as they are trying to avoid a court case at all costs.
The judge scheduled the next hearing for April 29th.
After the arraignment Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra held a press conference outside the courthouse stating that Rihanna was not present in court because the law did not require her to be in court. But he did mention that she would cooperate with the court if she is ordered to and she would be pleased “if the case were over quickly.” He also stated that what happened in court was fully expected.
