Have you ever walked into a boutique and it felt like home? From the warm decor to the cool and friendly staff – everything about the experience was simply on point? Well those were my feelings the moment I walked into Solemates Chicago for the very first time. The boutique’s design is Ralph Lauren meets sneaker culture and urban edge but through it all, a woman’s touch is very prevalent. The woman’s touch I’m referring belongs to none other than Mrs. Autumn Merritt, co-owner of Solemates Chicago. Having lived in Chicago for many years, I must say that I was happy to see the city’s development in the retail space and even happier to see a young, black (and super cute) couple leading the charge! In Her Shoes caught up with Autumn recently for a great conversation about Solemates, her soulmate, and retail business in the Windy City. Here’s what she had to say…

New Ed Hardy Store in Beverly Center

Expanding into an indoor mall location for the first time, “Godfather of Street Chic”, Christian Audigier announced the grand opening of his newest Ed Hardy Store in the Beveryly Hills’ Beverly Center, the largest grossing and premier trendsetting marketplace in LosAngeles.

The Beverly Center opening marks the rapidly growing Ed Hardy retail collection’s expansion into an indoor mall venue. Ed Hardy retail locationson New York’s SOHO and Meat Packing District and on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles are well known for their distinctively fun, California garage-themed shopping experiences. The new 1,000 square foot Beverly Center store, designed by OCA Architecture, takes the Ed Hardy shopping experience to new heights by combining additional elements of style, shopping ease and visual merchandisingwith Ed Hardy’s proven street location formula.

BBC | Ice Cream Store New York Grand Opening

Within a few months of Hong Kong’s opening of their BBC | Ice Cream flagship store comes another storefront in the city of New York. The new store will open its doors to the public on Tuesday, November 27th.

With the grand opening comes a series of special store exclusive items such as blue/blue Board Flips and t-shirt. Those who have had the opportunity to view the architecture of the Hong Kong BBC | Ice Cream store should expect much of the same exciting and theme driven interior design. The store is located at 456 West Broadway.
